INDIAN ROCK PYTHON

Indian Rock Python:- Non-venomous

Indian Rock Python is nocturnal. Inhabit esturine mangrove forests, arid scrub jungle, rainforests and grasslands. Though adaptable, rock pthons need large, undisturbed areas to hunt and hide in. As these get scarce, so do these snakes, Prey id mainly warm-blooded (Rodent, Fruit bats, birds, jackals, civets, deer and wild boar). The pits (slits) on the rostral (snout scale) and upper lip scales sense warmth and help the snake hunt. Both sexes have a “spur” larger in males on each side of the anal scale. These are considered to be vestigial hind limbs. Females lays up to 107 eggs in March-June and remain coiled on them for 60-80 days.

Muscular body contractions raise temperature a little to help incubate the eggs.
This snake found almost throughout of India (except the Icelands).
Also Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan. This snake play a very important role to maintain eco balance system. This snake is Non-venomous snake that is why we should not kill this snake because of our environment sake.
